After two decades of marriage, a middle-aged couple experiences a sudden and violent split in the French-Italian co-production L’Odore del sangue (2004). Carlo (Michele Placido) and Silvia (Fanny Ardant) fully expect to spend the rest of their lives together until the latter mysteriously develops a wandering eye. After meeting a muscular neo-fascist thug (Sergio Tramonti), feisty Silvia can barely contain herself at the prospect of being roughly handled by the dangerous brute. Poor Carlo’s relegated to peeping at the famous Ardant, although he discovers a new target for his desires in Giovanna Giulani, who enjoys stringing her victim along with her achingly hot bod.
