Based on a manga by Saito Takao, the martial arts action epic Echo of Destiny: Shadow Hunters II (1972) advances the saga of the Shadow Hunters, a trio of mercenaries hired to smuggle precious cargo through a minefield of dangers. Ishihara Yujiro plays the leader of the traveling clan, who battles his way through swarms of ninjas and wily female killers to complete the task assigned to him by an influential daimyo. Even armed with the knowledge that Maki Carousel and Junko Natsu are deadly fighters, it would be hard to fault Yujiro and his brethren for pausing to admire the females’ fatal curves.
