Hilary Swank, Henry Thomas, and Rachael Leigh Cook lead a smashing ensemble cast in the crafty, darkly humorous 11:14 (2003). A series of ten seemingly unrelated unfortunate events is undeniably linked through flashbacks, flash-forwards, and overlapping storylines that make amazing connections between an assortment of vividly realized characters. The common start-and-end point is the time of the title, with all the other action taking place in the forty minutes between 10:54 p.m. and 11:34 p.m. Drunk driving, teen pranks, accidental castration, and graveyard sex are just some of the pleasures to be had here. As the clock ticks to the movie’s exhilarating pay-off, alarmingly sexy Rachael in a tight black top with an exposed purple bra-cup will make your Ben big.
