Jean-Pierre Blanc’s arthouse comedy D'amour et d'eau fraīche (1976) translates as Love and Cool Water, and truth be told, you could do a lot worse than either. Protagonist Jip (Julien Clerc) is similarly pulled between two niceties--he’s got two girlfriends and can’t for the life of him choose between them. One is kooky and barely legal (Miou-Miou), the other’s a classy and seasoned dame (Annie Giradot). The former’s the only one willing to show skin, however, so I think we have a winner. Miou-Miou frequently purrs her way into her man’s arms wearing delightfully little in the way of apparel.
