French arts and entertainment icon Serge Gainsbourg wrote, directed, and stars in Charlotte for Ever (1986), along with his real-life daughter, Charlotte Gainsbourg. Serge plays Stan, a washed-up, alcoholic screenwriter whose Hollywood glory days are long behind him. All he has in life is his sumptuous teenage offspring, Charlotte. Obviously there is much of Serge himself in the characterization, and there is much of young Charlotte’s body on display. Would you expect anything less from the father-daughter team that scored an international pop hit titled “Lemon Incest”?
