One of the great things about greatness is that it invites imitation. A poor man’s Caddyshack (1980) can still be rich in visual pleasures, especially if the pale imitation follows the lead of Golfballs! (1999) and features flaxen-tressed Amy Lynn Baxter’s mountainous mammary range. Like Caddyshack before it, Golfballs! examines the struggle between rich folks and folks who are not quite so rich. The conflict resolution comes down to a winner-take-all round of golf, the victor of which is never really in doubt. Where Golfballs! does Caddyshack one better, or rather a pair of pairs better, is in deploying the racks and rears of an ample stable of amply blessed eye candy. Slice, hook or bogie, it’s all better when accompanied by bouncing boobies.
