Review
Director Ken Russell goes all out in The Lair of the White Worm (1988), a wild adaptation of a Bram Stoker novel, as a simple tale of legendary rustic Worm Gods becomes a mad mix of rock ’n' roll and sadomasochistic imagery. He chooses a properly shameless cast, too, with young Hugh Grant, Sammi Davis-Voss, and Catherine Oxenberg keeping their tongues firmly in cheek. Your hands, however, will be firmly in your pants once you check out Amanda Donohoe’s kinky turn as the Priestess of the Worm (and the Goddess of your own personal Trouser Snake).
