Review
The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988) is a Czech love story set against the Soviet invasion of 1968. Tanks roll onto the streets to crush the rebellion, but the big guns are fired by naked Juliette Binoche and Lena Olin. Lightness is an arthouse film by the usually mainstream Philip Kaufman, screenwriter for Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), and based upon the literary novel by Milan Kundera, but the pretensions are few and the skin exposed loads.
