Shot in a jittery, handheld style, Jon Red’s edgy Boso (2005) is said to be inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s famous Rear Window (1954). The Filipino indie stars Jeffrey Quizon as Jake, a peeping tom who’s most excited when he’s going to ridiculous ends to scope his neighbors in the nude. From sex-starved single women to teens getting nasty for the first time, Jake observes them all from a perch of privacy. Luckily Red’s keen on shooting from the peeper’s point of view, ensuring that there are plenty of racy moments involving the smoking-hot ensemble cast of Gwen Garci, J.C. Parker, Katya Santos, and Ella V.
