Perceptive high schoolers notice that teachers of certain subjects, such as drama and religion, are slightly freakier than the pedagogues entrusted with illuminating the basic formulae of math or grammar. Art instructors, for instance, are widely considered to be decidedly queer, and the two graphic mentors whose peccadilloes provide the gruesome theatrics of Night Fangs (2005) will only worsen that prejudiced perception. Fixated upon notions of eternal youth, the pair of aging visual specialists embarks upon a program of bloody spells and sanguinary incantations that casts a pall over all other courses of study. If only the vain duo had settled for Botox, the graduating class might have escaped a curriculum of trauma and gore.
