Scoop's note: all this commentary is written by Tuna. I guess I should start with the good news. This is the third Sean Young film I have seen and worked on. In all three, she plays a very sexual woman. I now suspect this is type casting. In my opinion, she is not "pretty," has a fair body, and limited acting ability. It is comforting to think that she may be the poster child for the "I like it" woman.

The things I didn't like about this film were the acting, the story, the lighting, and above all, the DVD quality. As the images show, most VHS tapes have superior image quality. The story is about a new FBI agent assigned to do a background check on Sean for a security clearance. The agent is played by an actress I am not familiar with -- Soleil Moon Frye. She is lovely, and can act, so I will be looking for something suitable of her. Soleil discovers that Sean has an open marriage, pretty kinky fetishes, and eventually that she isn't even who she pretends to be, despite having had a Secret clearance for ten years. The story is extremely inaccurate about the way clearances are investigated and granted or denied.

They have Frye breaking and entering and putting Young under surveillance, then performing computer searches and investigating possible criminal activity, and going under cover at Young's place of employment. In real life, a CBC (Complete Background Check) involves verifying that the information submitted on the clearance application matches previous applications, verifying the accuracy of the residence and employment information, doing a police check, and interviewing co-workers, friends and neighbors, and the listed references. If there is a problem with the information, or the interviews show an exploitable personal trait, the clearance is denied. Also, an investigator never reveals anything they have learned to anyone else. This film had Frye leaking information faster than my 52 MG TD leaked rain. The film also had a DOD general pressuring the FBI to grant the clearance. The FBI only does the investigation in real life -- DISCO grants or denies the security clearance. DISCO is immune to pressure from the military. None of this information is difficult to obtain -- the writers just didn't do their homework.
