Indiana FM-radio icon John Mellencamp takes a breather from crooning about “Our Country” long enough to star as crime-scene photographer Joe in the thriller After Image (2001). Actually, Joe is a fed-up crime-scene photographer who, early on, ditches his pictures and camera equipment like, you know, “Paper in Fire.” Alas, a wild night is calling as Joe is strolling about with his deliriously attractive, occasionally clairvoyant girlfriend (Terrylene) and they literally stumble on a murdered body. Psychic visions power the couple’s ensuing investigation, but none are quite as mesmerizing as the sight of Terrylene in the buff. That’s one image that will leave you happily ever after.
