Founded in 1975 as a response to closed-industry honors such as the Oscars, the Emmys, and the Grammys, The People's Choice Awards recognizes achievements in all major categories of entertainment as selected by—well, you! And me! And everyone who submits their votes to the People's Choice organization at PCAvote.com. According to the People's Choice Manifesto: "We the People are armchair programmers and sideline directors . . . like characters with heart and humor . . . can influence as individuals and revolutionize in groups . . . [and] care about entertainment and want to make it better." Each annual broadcast of The People's Choice Awards attracts top-name celebrities and garners top-of-the-charts TV ratings. Choice moments are frequently provided by low-cut and exceedingly sexy gowns on starlets. Highlights in recent years have included appearances by Halle Berry and Emily Procter.
