When the precocious young Lila moves into a predominantly Arab neighborhood, she gets more attention than she wants after revealing herself to the leader of one of two rival gangs. Soon the tension between the two rival gang members threatens to destroy the entire community. Lila Says (2004) is an engrossing and disturbing coming-of-age tale that also explores the dynamic between the white and Arab worlds. Vahina Giocante shows off a gorgeous little muffburger as she cavorts on a playground swing.
