The nunsploitation epic La Vera storia della monaca di Monza (1980) presents the true story of Marianna de Leyva, a sixteenth-century woman who was the daughter of an Italian noble forced against her will into a convent. When she protested to her father that she didn’t want to be a nun, she was imprisoned at her family estate until she gave in and returned to the convent, where she took a lover and murdered a servant who discovered them together. Czech actress Zora Kerova, who plays the reluctant nun, also took her clothes off in two of the most notorious exploitation movies ever made--Lucio Fulci’s The New York Ripper (1982) and Umberto Lenzi’s Times Square favorite Cannibal Ferox (1981), a.k.a. Make Them Die Slowly. See what those nuns are hiding under their habits when Zora takes a candlelit bath.
