Fear and sexual arousal spring from the same inherent impulse: the instinct for self-preservation. Oddly enough, erotic activity and scary scenarios both commonly occur in nocturnal settings. So don’t be dismayed if a viewing of Fright Night (1985) results in a dually accelerated heartbeat. A horror-flick fanboy finds that his blood is pumping double time when a pair of obvious vampire dudes takes up residence in the house next door. Roused to action, the lad adopts a program of peeping Tom tactics that confirm his undead suspicions and also catch him a succulent eyeful of tender young breast flesh. Will anyone ever believe this young man’s assertions that descendants of Dracula have infiltrated the neighborhood? And more importantly, will he ever set his sights on such a splendid set again?
