"It was beauty killed the beast," is how King Kong (1933), the greatest ape picture of all time, ends. And the beauty of star Fay Wray will have audiences killing their trouser beasts . . . at least they'll be trying to strangle them. The waif-like Fay was already a silent-screen star, but when she hit the soundstage for this production it was really something to talk about. The skyscraper-scaling simian takes a shining to the petite dark-haired hottie and engages her in a little finger foreplay, which has viewers wanting to spank their monkeys. But what really gets audiences' bananas peeled is the scene where Fay is thrashing about in the water and her shirt comes off to reveal her Wrays of sunshine. No wonder they called them the good old times.
