Never underestimate a zombie. Reanimated corpses possess wiles and determination that the ordinary human will go an entire lifetime without experiencing. Luckily, as evidenced in Burial Ground: The Nights of Terror (1980), after we the breathing have the pulse sucked from us by a band of gore-hungry marauding dead, we too can tap into a ghoulish inner strength and call upon a perverse ingenuity. Watch us, the shambling shades we have become, as we make a bloody mess of any character foolhardy enough to say, “They are really slow. We can stay away from them.” Potential bonuses to being a zombie, at least a zombie of the sort in Burial Ground, include scaring the clothing off of supple Italian actresses and eating a breast off the heaving chest of your own soon-to-be-deceased mother.
