Excellent action helmer Enzo G. Castellari gives the world another great crime drama in The Heroin Busters (1977), or The Streets of Drugs, as it translates from its original Italian. The story concerns a heroin ring in Rome that is tight on supply while demand remains, as always, addictive. While they try to get the opiates the people crave, viewers are treated to some of the best action set pieces caught on film. Equally entertaining is Sherry Buchanan in a cameo as an actress playing a rubber in some avant-garde stage production. Her prophylactic costume is realistically transparent for a nice view of her small wonders, which she marches out later in a lesbo scene with blonde Patrizia Webley. Finally on DVD, thanks to the good people at Blue Underground, this is a piece of cult film history worthy of everyone's library.
