Romance scribbler Michelle von Flotow has exhausted her genre. She's done fantasies and pirates and all manner of gothic gobbledegookery, and she's plumb tapped out as the erotic drama Phantom Love (2000) opens. But that all changes when her publisher advises her to go out and grab a new story by the nuts—Michelle goes in search of erotic exploits, finding herself inspired by the private diaries of one Lady Judith, a.k.a.
