Friends of radically different persuasions find their lives changed forever after tangling with the police in the Belgian-French co-production Il y a maldonne (1988). John Berry's probing psychological study concerns Luc (Luc Thuillier), a homeless delinquent, and Marco (Clovis Cornillac), a well-meaning young man who inadvertently falls in with the criminal element. When Luc is confronted about a theft, a barrage of aggressive police questioning ends in cataclysmic violence. Things look pretty grim for the heroes, but they do have Nathalie Gabay to lean on--the French vixen cuts loose with a pair of rare shower scenes that help lighten the proceedings.
