With some maladies, the cure can be worse than the disease, particularly when the infirmity is sexual dysfunction between a married couple. Jiving Jay Mohr and wonder-buns Melora Walters are a loving couple stricken with a lack of mutual lust in Speaking of Sex (2001). A screwball comedy with the emphasis on both ball and screw, Speaking of Sex follows the stricken pair as they seek professional guidance in the effort to rekindle their connubial flames. That the young and bored marrieds consult therapists played by James Spader at his stalker creepiest and Lara Flynn Boyle at her nympho zenith gives some indication of the mishaps to follow.
