If a bad, proud black man decides that he is a lover, not a fighter, and he sets about living his life in the manner that best presents himself as God’s gift to women, then for the sake of peace and quiet, don’t mess with the dude’s trip and turn him into a relentless, hyper-violent vigilante. The muscular and super-cool hero of Black Shampoo (1976) is a dude who is easy enough to get along with. Just leave him to running his Sunset Strip hair salon and boning his steady stream of female admirers. Don’t interfere with the happiness of his trusted receptionist, not even if you are top dogs in the Mob. In fact, especially if you are Mob top dogs, you should know to leave the stud to his own devices, unless you are prepared to take the shaft yourself.
