In En la puta vida (2001), a young woman’s simple dream of opening up a hair salon in a fashionable part of her hometown spirals out of control when, along the way to realizing her dream, she becomes involved in prostitution. Introduced to the local madam by a friend and promised enough money to open her spa, she falls afoul of the mob in the form of a vicious transvestite ring. This is a sad commentary on the dreams of the young and unmarried. The seriously beautiful Mariana Santángelo lies in bed with her lover, exposing a darling pair of dumplings.
