What happens when conspiracy theorist Oliver Stone meets scenery-chewing Al Pacino on the big-money playground of modern American football? You get Any Given Sunday (1999), a cynical, drug-fueled psychodrama filled with smash-mouth football, hot cheerleaders, and an NFL owner played by dead sexy, tough-as-nails blonde Cameron Diaz. And there are even some good laughs throughout, such as that awkward moment when Cameron enters the boys' locker room and reaches out to shake the hand of a linesman with a tree trunk between his legs.
