Another 48 Hrs. (1990)

Another 48 Hrs. (1990) proves that unlikely allies often make the most effective — and most amusing — teammates. The white cop and black crook who careen and wax obscene throughout the motorcycle, car, and bus chases, fatal shootings, climactic explosions, and wry macho postures are natural match-ups precisely because their differences mesh like a dash of ying with a pinch of yang. As a sequel to the hugely successful buddy cop action comedy 48 Hrs. (1982), this R rated flick adheres to the premise that if something is wildly successful the first time around, it makes a lot of sense (and cents) to try it again. As such, director Walter Hill and screenwriters John Fasano, Jeb Stuart, and Larry Gross put their collective heads together to continue the story. As expected, a weathered San Fran cop (Nick Nolte) enlists the aid of a sly but imprisoned African American grifter (Eddie Murphy) to track down and neutralize a master criminal. Luckily for us, the investigation turns up some nudity! For starters, Page Leong shows off both of her bare breasts as she gets out of bed to receive Mr. Murphy at the door. Ding dong! If that’s not titillating enough, Kitten Natividad exposes her black and white boobs on a drive-in screen. Even though the leads are too busy driving cars to take in the Paramount Pictures view, Mr. Skin would love to mount Kitten’s picturesque pair! Needless to say, we’ll all be waiting with mastur(bated) breath for yet another 48 Hours!
