Anika Noni Rose is damn impressive—and she’s only got five feet and two inches of body to work with. She’s both a singer and an actress, a star on both the big screen and the little screen, and a mega-star on the stage. She’s got seven awards to her name—including a Tony—and another 24 nominations—including a Grammy. Her first feature film role was playing Kaya, Kelly Clarkson’s gal pal in the movie From Justin to Kelly(2003), an attempt to cash in even more on the popularity of American Idol. Though the film itself was less than stellar, we did get to see Anika in several different bikinis, looking mighty fine. As hot as she was in that film, it was her role as Lorrell Robinson in Dreamgirls (2006), the Oscar-winning film co-starring Beyoncé, Jamie Foxx, and Jennifer Hudson, that really brought her talents to the world in a big way. She sang, she acted, she was fantastic and applauded. Anika has been steadily employed ever since, appearing in multiple series and films. Most notably, she was Kizzy in the mini-series Roots (2016), where the edges of her curves were revealed; as Dr. Eva Fletcher in The Quad from 2017-2018, standing proud in sexy lingerie; and Pauline in Little Fires Everywhere in 2020, sharing a bathtub with her female lover, all kinds of body parts bobbing up and down. Anika also carries the honor of being the first African-American Disney princess, having voiced the character of Tiana in The Princess and the Frog (2009). It seems wrong to end a Skin Central bio with a Disney flick, so Mr. Skin is also going to add that she played Wendy Scott-Carr on The Good Wife from 2010-2013, and was damn impressive in it.
