Angélique (1964)

The lavish French adventure Angélique, marquise des anges (1964) focuses on Michèle Mercier as Angélique Sancé de Monteloup. Our heroine was born of impoverished beginnings but, at seventeen, her family betroths Angélique to the Count of Peyrac de Morens (Robert Hossein), who is rumored to be a sorcerer. In fact, her soon-to-be husband is simply practicing innovative mining techniques to build his fortune. Regardless, the powers that be deem him a dabbler in black magic, and it’s up to Angélique to keep him from being burned at the stake. She fails and then lights out for the Paris underworld, where she hooks up with old friends and vows revenge. Before that though, we see her boobs by accident, and they look delicious and, wow, it’s 1964!
