A remake of the 1972 series, Camomila e Bem-Me-Quer, the writer of this 1984 Brazilian telenovela has apparently churned out over forty previous soapies, which must mean she has a high tolerance for bad dialogue, terrible acting, and gratuitous nudity. Hey, who doesn’t? The translated title is Love with Paid Love If , which makes absolutely no sense to me, nor to anyone who doesn’t work at Wendy’s Drive-Thru, but I expect it means What if Love Paid or If Love Paid With Love or something. At least there’s some love involved, which is nice. The totally skinful Julia Lemmertz and Mayara Magri appear in this thing, and they get naked a bunch in lots of other things, so that’s probably a good positive note to end on.
