Tough to review this one, since it was actually an on-going soap-opera segment within another series - Victoria Wood: As Seen on TV. Created as a spoof on the crappy acting and production value of 1964 soap opera Crossroads, it starred Victoria Wood (Dinnerladies), Julie Walters(Educating Rita) and Celia Imrie (Bridget Jones’s Diary) and was essentially an ongoing comedy sketch bit. Walters would go on to be nominated for two Oscars but to hell with the movies she won them for. We prefer to go to a video store that isn’t Blockbuster at least once a month and rent She’ll Be Wearing Pink Pyjamas, where ‘our Julie’ shows her bear trapper’s hat for the first and only time on screen.
