A Year In the Life

Review

You’ve all seen shows like this before – a parent dies and the remaining old fart is a little lost so all the adult kids return to the hometown, zany antics ensue. In this short-lived but critically loved series, Joe Gardner (Golden Globe winner, Richard Kiley) is a successful plastics executive in Seattle. When his wife falls off the twig, his four grown-up children move back home with their kids, their problems, their issues. Ex-hippy Anne (Wendy Phillips) is a double divorcee with her two kids. Lindley (Jayne Atkinson) works for her father and recently popped a kid. Jack (Morgan Stevens) is a lost soul trying to figure out what he’s supposed to be doing in life. And then there’s Sam (David Oliver), a total yuppie married to his wife Kay (Sarah Jessica Parker).  For the purposes of Skin, that last lass is the one we’re mostly interested in, since Sarah Jessica Parker is so hot she’s glowing red. But being hot in itself isn’t enough, especially when you never take off your clothes for the camera (dammit!), which is where co-star Amanda Peterson comes in. This tight little hot-bod hasn’t had anywhere near the success of SJP but she has disrobed for the lens a time or two, which makes her a star in our book. Catch her best inPosing: Inspired by Three Real Stories, where she gives us a whole lot of back.
