A Royal Affair (2012)

A sexy young queen's secret affair will have consequences far outside her marriage in the Danish bodice-ripper A Royal Affair (2012). Caroline Mathilde (Alicia Vikander) is an English princess pushed into an arranged marriage with the Dutch prince Christian VII (Mikkel Boe Følsgaard). But even though he knocks her up really quickly, the two don't exactly gel. He's an old school Conservative who's a few jewels short of a scepter, while she's a worldly Liberal looking to push her progressive reforms on the country. Since these hoes ain't loyal, even when they're royal, when her marriage to Christian falters Caroline begins an affair with the German born royal physician Johann Friedrich Struensee (Mads Mikkelsen). Johann shares a ton in common with Caroline, from their political views to their love of the books Christian has banned from his kingdom. Caroline has a secret baby with her mister mistress, and Johann starts writing speeches and acting as a political advisor to Christian. But when the Dutch people find out about the foreigner who is both boning the Queen and influencing the laws their ruler tries to pass, it's not long before they call for the doctor's head and try to spark a royal revolution. Speaking of revolution, you'll feel an uprising in your pants when Alicia goes topless in the bath and shows that this princess has a great prince-set! Later we'll get another T&A look as she cheats on her hubby with the German doctor, kicking off the whole thing which will end in Johann's beheading and Ove Hoeghe-Guldberg (David Dencik) becoming the new man in charge. Sure his decision to have sex with the princess leads to his death, but after seeing Alicia Vikander you'd do the same if you could land her! It's a fair point about the affair. All hail the hot piece of tail at the center of A Royal Affair!
