Finding information on this show is about as simple as finding the entry point on a naked, unshaven Roseanne. Hey, don’t start bitching about the image I just planted in your mind, at least it can only get better from here on in. A Kick Up The Eighties was Golden Globe-winning comedienne Tracy Ullman’s second TV outing, after the short-lived BBC drama MacKenzie. In this series, Ullman, Rik Mayall (Drop Dead Fred), Miriam Margolyes (the Harry Potter films) and Roger Sloman (Max Headroom) performed oh-so-topical comedy based on the just happening turn of the decade. Since that decade has since turned twice more, the series doesn’t get a whole lot of airplay anywhere but as a launchpad for Ullman, whose imaginatively titled Tracey Ullman Show would later spawn something called The Simpsons, it should be fondly remembered by all. On the other hand, if you’re just looking for some Ullman skin, tryReady To Wear (where she shows much skin and much cellulite) or the mostly enjoyableHousehold Saints (where she shows a boob and, miraculously, no cellulite at all).
