A French Woman (1995)

Lippy screen beauty Emmanuelle Béart plays the titular French woman in Regis Wargnier’s sumptuous historical drama Une femme francaise (1995). Béart stars as Jeanne, a young woman who barely has time for a honeymoon before her soldier husband is whisked away to fight the Nazis. As she bides time awaiting his return, Jeanne succumbs to desire and pursues affairs with a number of returned soldiers--a fact that doesn’t sit well with the cuckolded Louis (Daniel Auteuil). By the time Vietnam comes around, Jeanne is up to her old tricks again, collapsing into the arms of yet another dashing gentleman while her husband dodges bullets overseas. Fortunately Béart sinks her teeth into her role, allowing her breasts to heave freely while boffing Louis’s competition.
